F@#$ MS, use Ubuntu Linux

Here’s my latest thought regarding Windows XP Pro:

F#$%ing useless, F#$%ing waste of time, F#$%ing piece of shit……..

You may have gathered that I am pretty pissed off.

I have a old special purpose DOS CAD program that I recently reinstalled on a Dell laptop that dual boots windows and Linux. Previously under xp it worked OK but this install totally crashes windows to a full blue screen requiring the power button to be held for some time to shut the laptop down. This happens whenever the screen saver kicks in or when you alt-tab.

I don’t care about solutions or options with windows. It should not happen and I should not have to fix it. The laptop is simply a tool; I’m not going to repair it to be able to use it. I’m not going to upgrade windows; the F@#$ers couldn’t get the last one right; why would I be so stupid as to buy their latest attempt.

This has cost me hours of frustration and lost work.

There is a solution: Kubuntu and Dosbox work perfectly.  It took a few hours to find Dosbox and get it setup but it does what microsoft cannot do with their own software. It runs quickly and reliably.

Linux is now at a point that it can serve the average computer user more reliably than windows can. Ubuntu installs simply and offers easy application install and maintenance. It’s at a stage now that it works and you don’t have to be a Linux wizard to setup a home or basic business PC. More complex multi PC networking is still a bit of a challenge; probably beyond most home users. But for all the normal day to day stuff, you can’t beat Ubuntu.
