The Fire Denyer is a controller, the size of a standard light switch that is connected to smoke detectors and a control relay mounted in the electrical switchboard that cuts off power to the stove in the kitchen.

The purpose is to shut off cooking when smoke is detected. Usually, smoke will be produced before a fire When something cooking is forgotten. The smoke is detected and the Fire Denyer shuts off power, stopping the cooking before a fire happens.

Installation Basics

Because of the mains power wiring an electrician must install the Fire Denyer.

The Fire Denyer controller can be mounted in the kitchen, usually next to a light switch, or close to the switchboard.  Next to the switchboard may quicker and easier if it’s difficult to add mains wiring for the control relay (contactor) which must be in the electrical switchboard.

The smoke detector wiring is standard 4-core security cable which is often easier to run (install).

A minimum system consists of :  Controller, battery, contactor and 1 or more smoke alarms.  Wiring and misc. installation items would usually be supplied by the installing electrician..
